Short films So It Goes (Aalto-university, ELO 2012) and Sirocco (Pohjola-filmi, 2012) forms Suburban Shorts – a short film screening premiering on Friday 26.10.2012 at Kinopalatsi, Helsinki. At Turku Suburban Shorts will be seen from 14.12.
Widely awarded So It Goes (directed by Antti Heikki Pesonen), the must-see short film of the year, is colored with dark humor and tells the story of warehouse worker Elli (Armi Toivanen, known from very popular TV-show Putous). She’s trying to escape from domain of local train for better life, but it’s easier said than done.
Sirocco (directed by Mikko Kuparinen) premiered in Palm Spring’s Int’l ShortFest, California. Sirocco is based on short story Merkki by Tuuve Aro, and tells about shy and lonely Raisa. Raisa, who avoids human contacts, (Eeva Putro) finds an abandoned baby by her apartment house’s garbage bin.
