The Finnish Film Foundation has granted development fund for two films of Pohjola-filmi. The Film of Pony and Pigeonboy received development fund worth of 19 000 euros. The Lesson received development fund worth of 17 000 euros.
The Film of Pony and Pigeonboy is partly based on Veera Salme’s popular children’s book The Book of Pony and Pigeonboy, which rich humor and anarchist hustle have brought the book as a favorite of children. The book was published in 2012 and was an instant success. Veera Salmi received a Kaarina Helakisa -award last year as a recognition of significant literary achievement for children and young people’s literature area.
The Lesson tells the story of Mari, who is a young teacher whose career is ruined in a minute after being falsely accused for abusing one of her students.
